Guitars
Sketch a Day - Day 72/365
A busy day in Bradford city centre, working with Kathleen Yore from Odd Doll and Vicky Ackroyd. Looking at the newest draft of the Blink script. I talked story notes and beats to Kathleen and Vicky talked about access. So great to get her expertise at the beginning stages of the work.
A fab, exciting and creative day.
Which is great.
But I was so swept up in it I forgot to take any photos from the day, so didn't know what to draw.
Lara Darling said she wasn't posing again as ‘there's a limit’. I didn't feel like that was a great reason but she was adamant. She would not pose.
So, I decided to draw my guitars. And as soon as I did I was glad.
The acoustic was a gift for my 21st birthday and the last gift my dad gave me before he died. The electric guitar was a gift from my mum. Bought in Bingley when there was still a music shop here. Years and years these instruments have been with me. They are not flash or valuable but I like how familiar and right they feel when I pick them up. And how they remind me of my fab parents. I suppose I just feel really lucky to have them. I don't think I would have thought about any of that if I hadn't stopped to draw them this evening.
And that's the news.
