Manchester Gaza Demo
Sketch a day - Day 151/365
Before coming home from Manchester I went on the demonstration for Gaza. It was moving (one of the speeches made me feel emotional. All the normal hopes and dreams of the people who have been killed. The speakers words just brought this home very powerfully). While I was listening I sketched demonstrators.
The act of drawing is of course the act of witnessing. I felt lucky to get to witness folks standing with so much care and sorrow and determination.
Later when we marched the noise and presence of this huge mass of people was incredible. At once determined to be heard but not intimidating. So many different people marching together.
It was powerful. People are incredibly powerful. And then it was time for me to come home and do writing this evening.
Tired now.
That's the news.
