Jane with Edible Archive Biscuits
Sketch a day - Day 177/365
The first thing to say is that yes this is pretty much a direct copy and paste from an Instagram post I did just now. Its 11.20pm and I am running out of time. But also, alot of what I want to say here is what I said there. So… I got to attend the launch of @edible.archives #bradfordselection this evening. A lovely edible / sensory art project, in a biscuit tin. There are 5 biscuits inspired by Bradford and hand made in Bradford. It's one of the most joyous launches I have ever been to. @irenekaali_ was as ever an absolutely brilliant host with the most. She is a total star. Pat Dowson's songs about The Richard Dunn centre were great. And all the folks who got up to talk about the community groups involved with making the biscuits were inspiration. Tonight, folks from @1in12librarycollective , Bradford Apple Project and the @britishlibrary spoke. I feel lucky to have been there and to have one of these tins. I am keeping it forever. A HUGE shout of well done to @harryjelly and @hungry_sonia and the @bradford_2025 team.
Ps once we got home we tried the apple day forever biscuit (gooey joy) and Gur in a suitcase (lovely and a surprise. Fresh in a way I wasn't expecting). I can't think of anywhere else in the world where tonight could have happened. I love Bradford ❤️
PPS I accompanied the insta post with photos of the tin, but the drawing above is of Jane, sitting with the tin as we waited for our train home. I got her hair all wrong and intact most of it is wrong. Jane's only comment was ‘i like the little bod guy in the background’. Let's end things there.
And that's the news.
