Tucker Again

Sketch a day - Day 225/365

Today was about writing my play. Trying to get to the heart of a problem that has been nagging at me. I think it's better. I will know more clearly tomorrow.

Other things done included some training with Tucker.

Tucker has been a very good boy today (apart from when he tried to eat my lunch, but what self respecting pooch could resist a sandwich left a little too close to the counter edge?).

Tucker is learning to weave through poles in the garden this week. Because having a job to focus all of his good boy energy into, is his jam. And every week he needs new challenges. I mean, ideally he'd like to work for someone, who asks him to rush around in bushes, frightening birds, so that said person can then shoot the birds very dead. But, as shooting living things for fun is not on my bucket list and hopefully one day soon will be banned, that is not going to be happening any time soon.

Sorry Tucker, I know this would be the dream.

Instead we learn tasks together. Tucker believes the tasks are very very important. In reality they are not really useful, but they are taxing. By learning countless pointless tasks, Tucker gets to feel very certain that he is the best good boy in the world. Which he is. Show me a dog who tries harder than Tucker. That dog does not exist. And Tucker knows he is the best doog ever, because he gets treats. Yay treats. Treats mean joy. Also, in trying very hard, he gets tired out (thank fuck, he may be the best boy in the world but he is always ready to go, again and again and again and this is exhausting). When Tucker is feeling good about himself being the best boy in the world SO TREATS, and he's knackered from concentrating his little heart out, SO SLEEPS - that is my moment to return to my writing desk to do more writing.

Then, after a while he announces that he is rested and is ready to do another very important job. Let's go, let's go, let's go. And this is how the days roll.

That's the news.
