Sketch a day - Day 228/365

Sketching the lamp again, on top of old sketches of the lamp.

Followers of this blog will know by now that this lamp action means it's been a hardcore kind of writing day.

A playwriting day where nothing much has been seen other than the desk.

A day where the act of even opening the digital sketch app let alone finding a sketch book to draw into, felt beyond me.

The kind of day where the characters are more real than myself and they don't feel like I have arrived them sufficiently well on the page yet. So sketch a lamp if you must but then get back to the play.

It's been that kind of day.

To be transparent, today's sketch of the lamp is the pale blue pencil one.

The play deadline looms so that's all I have.
