Garden Spring Mayhem
Sketch a day - Day 122/365
So I started off wanting to draw the dandelions (which my dear friend Josh has told me are called dandelions because in french they are known as ‘dont de lion’ (doubt that's actually acceptable french spelling, sorry) - ‘teeth of the lion’ which I love knowing. However I have to admit, I don't get it. I don't see lions teeth when I look at a dandelion. Here we are. Things were different back when folks were imagining the names of flowers no doubt) see below
But then I got over excited by the garden trugs filled with water and weeds, and had to spread over onto the opposite page. See below
I find that this happens a lot though. I get distracted and the picture becomes something it wasn't going to be. I expect that this is not ideal. Perhaps I need to get very strict with myself. But that rarely works.
Anyway today was a day off and I loved it. I watched a super interesting webinar. Challenging and hopeful in equal measure. I am finding a lot of hope in the radical thinkers I am discovering. I am loving the invitation not to be simply in opposition. But to begin to think about how changing the way one thinks IS part of an answer (or a journey towards being in a state of newness- if any of that sounded interesting to you then the webinar might be for you.) https://centerforneweconomics.org/events/becoming-unsettled-why-white-virtue-will-not-save-us/ I played with/walked Tucker and had a cuddle with Lara Darling. A lovely day.
And that's the news.
