Umpteenth Lamp
Sketch a day - Day 207/365
If it's not the thermal tea mug, it's the self portrait and if it's not either of those, it's the desk lamp. And this week I have resorted to all 3 of those. So you can guess what it's been like.
Play deadline tomorrow and I didn't even get my sketch book out. I just sketched the lamp onto the paper I stick to my desk.
It's a cheap person's desk pad. I just tape a thin ream* of A3 paper to my desk. It started because I often work late and the noise of me hammering the keys kept Jane awake. So the paper started out as sound proofing. But it turns out having a big old slab of paper to doodle on is great.
You need a desk you don't care about though. Because the glue build up is intense. Over time.
Which I am running out of.
Deadline looms.
World spins on.
The plays still in the table. The draft is almost stitched up but it's not over till it's saved as a PDF.
The England Lioness win moments ago on penalties has not helped matters (but I am not complaining, go team!)
That's it.
And that's the news.
*known as a quire, which is about 25 sheets of paper. 20 quires make a long ream (500 pages). A short ream is 480 pages. A perfect ream (or printers ream) is 516 pages. I did not know any of that. Until now. I love a detail.
